Joanne M. Cherisma

Joanne M. Cherisma is a Haitian born writer. In "I Never Thought I Would Be A Statistic" she shared her testimony of how she overcame an abusive marriage. She created Beyond the Abuse, Inc. in 2016 in order to bring awareness on abusive relationship and provide hope, empowerment, support and confidence to the victims. Joanne writes poetic prose that speaks to the hearts of many. Joanne uses her writing as an outlet and voice for those who can understand the slings and arrows of life.

Danielle Fairbairn-Bland

Danielle (Duh-Neil) Fairbairn-Bland is a children’s diversity author, licensed mental health therapist, and speaker dedicated to creating literary art that reflects the dynamic experiences of people of the African Diaspora. Through children’s books and journals, she promotes the values of family, community, culture, and wellness. Danielle is determined to introduce images and stories that heal and restore lives.

Shay

Shay Fuentes is a New Adult author and content creator living in NY with her cat. She writes in different genres and spends way too much time on IG, where she has cultivated a community of 680+ readers. Shay is also a beginner writer coach, currently helping with the publication of a New Adult science-fiction murder mystery trilogy. Poet/Author Siah B. Hagin has worked for the New York City Department of Education for the past fourteen years and is currently a School Counselor within the same Department. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, she began writing poetry on her journey to healing. In "The Journey Continues: Stories of a Survivor", Poet/Author Siah B. Hagin tells us her story of survival, healing, and rediscovery through the art of poetry.

Emiliano Avila and Matthew Munoz are two kids, 10 yo and 5 yo. They Both love to read, write and make short educational videos since the age of 2. Emi loves writing and drawing comics. Matt reads fluently since the age of 2 and loves to represent his ideas through drawings. Follow Emi and Matt on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram. "It's reading time" with Emi and Matt.

Kaimeesa Stevenson is a Christian based first time author from the Bronx, NY. She is one of six siblings. Kaimeesa worked as a teacher, and now works in the foster care system. She's now engaged to a rapper who is also from the Bronx making a change in the community. Kaimeesa's goal in writing this book is to teach children about God and the importance of praying.

Blaque Diamond

Blaque Diamond is the C.E.O. of Blaque Diamond Enterprise. Her book "Stacey F. children's book series" on foster care and adoption garnered her several book awards, including the 2017 Indie Author Legacy Awards Community Champion Legendary Honoree. She earned her MSW degree from Morgan State University School of Social Work. She's a Certified Parent Coach and an advocate for children waiting for reunification. She co-writes "Open Your G.I.F.T.S. vol II" with actress-comedian Kim Coles.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Kadzi Mutizwa now lives in New York City. Living of Natural Causes is her first book.

Mama Forbes is a Valentines Day baby, born In 1925, so that makes her 97 years young. She is the last surviving sibling of 16 children. She spent most of my life in NYC working, married, and raising eight children and enjoying over 100 grand, great-grand and great-great grandchildren. Mama Forbes is working on co-authoring the second edition to the 3L Movement: Learn, Love, and Lead a book on affirmations. Mama Forbes is currently retired and living in the DMV area with her children.

Keanna Hinds is a mom, healer, griever, nurse, philanthropist and as of more recently a self-published children's author helping to break the stigma around grief in the black community. Keanna is also certified grief counselor providing grief relief resources virtually and in our community. Kendall Nicole Price is our 7 year old co author of Grieving Granny who is rambunctious, sassy, articulate and always eager to let her voice be heard.

Crystal Velasquez is the author of several children’s books, including the Life in the Doghouse series, the American Girl: Forever Friends series, the graphic novel Just Princesses, the Hunters of Chaos novels, the Your Life, But…series, and four Maya & Miguel books. Most recently her short story “Guillermina” was featured in Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez’s graphic novel anthology Ricanstruction: Reminiscing & Rebuilding Puerto Rico. An editor at Working Partners Ltd, she was born in the Bronx, NY.

Isabel Veguilla is a Disney-lovin’ omnivore who likes to travel, write, and cook international foods and desserts. She started cooking at the age of 11 and recently published her first cookbook, Con Sabor: My Puerto Rican Cuisine. Isabel wants to connect with people and culture through food. Her travels so far have taken her to Puerto Rico, DR, France, St. John, St. Thomas, Japan, and Mexico. Her trips are enhanced by food tours, cooking classes, and other food-related experiences.

Elise M. Washington is the author of “Tika Speaks”. She's BEDSTUY’S Wonder Teacher! She was born and bred in Brooklyn, NY, but now resides in Jamaica Queens. She has worn her CAPE in Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn for over 20 years. Growing up Elise spent countless hours at the Spring Creek Library where she immersed her self in literature to escape. These days you can find her in the neighborhood, on Facebook, TIKTOK, YouTube or on Instagram using one of her SUPERPOWERS to motivate young and old.
